A year ago, Pierre-Paul was a 30-year-old recovering from a car crash that fractured his neck. That May incident seemed to threaten not only his 2019 season, but perhaps his career.
But after opening the year on the non-football injury list, JPP got activated in Week 8 and played the final 10 contests. He racked up the 2nd most sacks per game of his career (0.85), trailing only his age-22 campaign back in 2011 with the Giants. Pierre-Paul's 1.6 QB hits per game put him on pace for a top-8 season in that category. And the Bucs rewarded him with a 2-year, $27 million extension in March.
Barring another fluky offseason injury, we see no reason to expect JPP to fall of a cliff in 2020. (Fingers crossed he stays away from actual cliffs.)
