Delpit played through a high-ankle sprain for much of his final season at LSU, and his numbers appeared to reflect that. Look back to his 2018 sophomore campaign, though, and you find more of a cross-category stat producer. Delpit ranked 3rd on that team in total tackles and 2nd in solos. He grabbed 5 INTs to go with 5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski has already praised Delpit's versatility, and the rookie appears headed for more of a SS role next to former Raiders FS Karl Joseph. Delpit's numbers should benefit from playing behind an iffy LB group in Cleveland, helping his chances of delivering reliable tackle tallies.
Go ahead and draft Delpit as a DB2. He presents immediate upside into DB1 range.
