Game. Day. Oh baby! Yes we got the season officially underway on Thursday night but that was like going to an expensive restaurant, waiting hours to get a table and then only ordering bread. Today is the main course. It’s what we have been waiting for and like kids on Christmas morning we cannot wait to get started.
We will be posting final injury updates on the morning of each gameday to make sure your lineup is as sharp as it needs to be to dominate. Please note this is not a “start or sit” type email. This is only who is injured and who is not.
Roddy sprained his ankle in the 3rd preseason game but is all systems go for today. He has surreal powers of rejuvenation, has never missed a game since 2005 and can bend forks with his mind. He chuckled sarcastically when the team doctor gave him the news of his sprained ankle and so should you.
He was finally cleared to play from a concussion that happened during August. What’s concerning here is that it took him weeks to get cleared when in most cases it takes days. He had a severe car accident in December 2011 which is being referred to as a possible cause of the lingering effects of this concussion. Not a good sign and something to keep in mind if you are starting him on Monday night.
Holmes is listed as questionable. Whilst it would be impressive to just see him on the field less than 12 months removed from Lisfranc surgery his role will probably be limited.
Gabbert is a game time decision with a hairline fracture on his thumb. That’s a story worth following as it could impact the day Shorts and MJD have.
Players with lingering injuries that have been listed as probable:
Andre Roberts (thigh), Cecil Shorts (calf), Kenny Britt (knee), Dwayne Allen (foot), Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), Cordarelle Patterson (back), Danny Amendola (groin), Victor Cruz (heel) and Kendall Wright (knee).
