Injury News

Bears LB Jerrell Freeman suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the Week 1 loss to the Falcons. That injury will require surgery and landed him on season-ending IR. The veteran also sustained a concussion in the game. He'll be 32 for the 2018 NFL season.

Ravens RB Danny Woodhead is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with his hamstring injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That puts his return somewhere between Weeks 6 and 8. Baltimore's bye isn't until Week 10. Woodhead will remain an injury risk when he returns as a 32-year-old RB with recurring hamstring trouble.

Cardinals RB David Johnson will undergo surgery on his dislocated wrist this week and is expected to be sidelined 2-3 months, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Johnson will be placed on IR but has a chance to be tabbed the "designated-to-return" player. Still, we're looking at a mid-November return -- or somewhere around Week 10 or 11 -- as the best-case scenario.

Texans QB Deshaun Watson suffered a right ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. Houston listed Watson as a limited participant on Monday's estimated report. Whether he starts Thursday will reportedly depend on how much he's able to do in practice this week.

Titans HC Mike Mularkey said Monday that S Johnathan Cyprien will miss "a few weeks" after suffering a left hamstring strain in the 4th quarter of Sunday's loss to Oakland.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said Monday that RB David Johnson has been diagnosed with a dislocated wrist. He's going for a 2nd opinion on the next course of action. But if the 2nd opinion is the same as the 1st, Johnson will undergo surgery and be placed on IR. He'd still have a shot to return after 8 weeks as the "designated-to-return" player, but even that would obviously be a big blow to fantasy owners. reports that CB Ronald Darby is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after dislocating his right ankle Sunday against Washington. That's relatively good news, considering how nasty the injury looked at the time. Eagles medical staff reportedly saw only "minor ligament damage" when reviewing the CB's MRI on Monday.

The Jaguars announced that WR Allen Robinson tore his ACL in Sunday's win over the Texans. He's done for the year, although the timing of the injury should have him ready at least by 2018 training camp. Robinson played in all 16 games each of the past 2 seasons after missing 6 games as a rookie in 2014 with a fractured foot.

Houston LB Brian Cushing suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. He'll obviously need to pass through the league protocol before returning to action.

The Bears believe WR Kevin White suffered a broken scapula (shoulder blade) in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'd send White to IR and likely end his season. If that's the case, White will have played just 5 games through 3 NFL seasons.

Update: The Chicago Tribune reports that the team placed White on season-ending IR on Monday.

Steelers DE Stephon Tuitt suffered a left arm injury in the 1st quarter Sunday against Cleveland and did not return. HC Mike Tomlin called it a biceps injury after the game. An official diagnosis should be on the way by sometime Monday.

Texans WR Bruce Ellington suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. He'll need to pass through the league protocol before returning to the field.

Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz was knocked out of Sunday's opener with a concussion. He was also listed on this week's injury report with a concussion and suffered one last December. He's a long shot to be cleared ahead of Thursday night's game against the Bengals.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed is battling a fracture in his big toe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Reed seemed to let the injury slip to the media back in mid-August. The injury "affected many other parts of his foot," and Reed "could be limited throughout the season," Rapoport adds.

Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook has been placed on IR. The rookie missed the 3rd preseason game with a core-muscle injury but returned for the 4th. It looks like he suffered a setback at some point since then. We'll keep our eyes open for more information.

Chiefs S Eric Berry ruptured the Achilles' tendon in his left leg in Thursday night's win over the Patriots. That will keep the veteran out for the rest of the season. We'll see if it impacts his availability for the start of the 2018 campaign.

Chiefs S Eric Berry suffered an Achilles' tendon injury in the 4th quarter of Thursday night's opener. It was not a promising seen as trainers and then HC Andy Reid gathered around him. We'll see about the official diagnosis, but the concern here is obviously a potential season ending rupture to the tendon.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola was knocked out of Thursday night's opener with a concussion. He was having a big one before the head injury, hauling in 6 of 7 targets for 100 yards. This is the 3rd known concussion for Amendola. We'll track his status through the protocol.

Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower hurt his right knee in Thursday night's opener. He left in the 3rd quarter and could be seen riding the stationary bike with a hot pack on the knee after being examined. New England deemed him questionable to return. The right knee is the same spot that kept him out of offseason workouts and on the training-camp PUP until late August.

The Patriots have placed WR Malcolm Mitchell on IR with a knee injury. We don't have any other details, but it's certainly worth noting that Mitchell tore an ACL in 2013 and required another surgery on the same knee in 2014. It's unclear if this latest issue is with the same knee.
