Giants WR Odell Beckham (ankle) could "potentially" miss the season opener against the Cowboys, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Dan Graziano. A separate source said it's "not out of the question he could miss a week or two of the regular season." The Giants have only announced that Beckham has a sprained ankle. We don't have any details on the location (high vs. low) or severity. “Odell has an ankle, and we’ll see how he responds to treatment," HC Ben McAdoo said Tuesday. We'll obviously be keeping a close eye on Beckham's progress over the next 18 days leading up to the Giants' opener.
Giants WR Odell Beckham (ankle) participated in individual drills during Thursday's minicamp session, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Beckham is 6-and-a-half months removed from the fractured ankle that ended his 2017 campaign in Week 5. We haven't yet heard that he's received full medical clearance, but he's obviously making progress. OBJ should be a full-go by the time training camp rolls around.
Giants HC Pat Shurmur said from the Combine on Wednesday that he doesn't know if WR Odell Beckham will be ready for training camp. He's still rehabbing the fractured left ankle he suffered on October 8. The fact that he's uncertain for the start of camp nearly 10 months later is a reminder of how serious the injury was. We'll continue to keep a close eye on OBJ's progress.
Giants HC Ben McAdoo announced Monday that WR Odell Beckham will undergo surgery on his fractured ankle and miss the rest of the season. He finishes with a 25-302-3 line in 4 appearances. Beckham will now have missed 17 games in 4 NFL seasons. He should be ready in plenty of time for the start of the 2018 campaign, which is currently scheduled to be a contract year for a guy who will still be only 25.
Giants WR Odell Beckham injured his ankle in the 1st half of Monday night's preseason game against the Browns. He took a hit directly to the leg but luckily was able to un-plant his foot just in time. Beckham got off the field under his own power but was in obvious discomfort. ESPN's Lisa Salters reports that OBJ is also being evaluated for a concussion. We'll update his status as soon as we learn more.
