Chargers MLB Denzel Perryman injured his left ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday night's preseason opener against the Seahawks. Perryman hobbled off the field, went to the locker room on a cart and later returned with crutches and a walking boot on his left foot, according to ESPN's Eric D. Williams. We'll see about the official diagnosis and Perryman's return timetable.
Chargers LB Denzel Perryman had surgery Tuesday to repair a torn ligament in his left ankle. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the team now expects him to miss 8-10 weeks, as opposed to the initial prognosis of 4-6 weeks. Korey Toomer and Nick Dzubnar are competing for MLB snaps with the starter out.
